Canadian Fertility Awareness Week
April 21-27, 2024, marked this year's recognition of Canadian Fertility Awareness Week.
Did you know?
Approximately 1 in 6 Canadians experience infertility.
1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss.
30% of fertility issues are unexplained.
These figures represent deeply personal and challenging journeys that individuals and couples navigate on the path to parenthood.
Yet, despite these widespread experiences, infertility and pregnancy loss often remain unspoken topics, shrouded in stigma.
Canadian Fertility Awareness Week aims to end that stigma—leading much-needed conversations on the emotional, physical, and financial struggles of infertility and pregnancy loss.
It's a time to amplify the voices of those who have felt silenced by that stigma and to highlight the need for compassion, understanding, and support in these conversations.
